The public is invited to participate in the upcoming Redistricting Community Outreach meeting on Wednesday, June 30 starting at 6 p.m. on the Zoom platform. This meeting is the second of 10 Community Outreach meetings scheduled between June 23 and August 28, 2021.
The Redistricting Community Outreach meetings are conducted and organized by Supervisorial District and intended for residents to provide input on their Communities of Interest (COI) for Board consideration. It is important to note that the “by District focused outreach” does not represent the only time or opportunity for the public to participate and provide input on the Redistricting process. Residents who are unable to attend a meeting may submit a written comment through the Redistricting website.
The June 30 Redistricting Community Outreach meeting includes an introduction of County and Redistricting Partners staff, an outline of the purpose and scope of the meeting, followed by a presentation on the basic principles of Redistricting, including the importance of community testimonies and COIs. The public will have an opportunity to ask questions and provide input on their COIs as part of the Redistricting process.

ABOUT THE REDISTRICTING PROCESS
Redistricting occurs every ten years after the U.S. Census is completed. District boundaries for federal, state and local elected offices are redrawn to reflect new population growths and equalize district populations. By law, counties must adopt their new boundaries by or before December 15, 2021.
