Redistricting determines which neighborhoods and communities are grouped together into a supervisorial district for purposes of electing a Board of Supervisor member. In accordance with the federal Voting Rights Act of 1965 and California State Laws, including the recently chaptered Fair and Inclusive Redistricting for Municipalities and Political Subdivisions (FAIR MAPS) Act, the County Board of Supervisors selected to appoint a 15-member Redistricting Advisory Committee (RAC21) to assist them in conducting community outreach to identify the communities of interest’s countywide and within their respective districts. This information will be important to include in developing maps with boundary options that the Board will need to approve before the December 15, 2021 deadline. By selecting the “Get Involved” option from the menu above, you have an opportunity to share how you think district boundaries should be drawn to best represent your community.
